Accommodation
We stayed in one of the world's most beautiful hotels, the Intercontinental Danang Sun Bay. This is really an amazing location and a beautiful hotel. The rooms are incredible with a beautiful view of the ocean and the peninsula, and there is nothing there except this hotel. It is also only 20-30 minutes from the airport, but feels very secluded.

Best Bits

The view, the room, the service… basically the hotel is amazing!

Worst Bits

None!

Trip Dates and Comments on Timing

September — We were lucky and had beautiful weather although it was a bit hot. Would be nice to be there in cooler weather… although not bad in shorts.

Arrival Logistics

Landed in Danang and had transport pre-arranged with an external company (found on trip advisor).

General Overview

Focusing on the Intercontinental part of the trip, the plan was to get there and do nothing. That is what we did! We wanted to rest and relax, and celebrate our anniversary.

Main Activities

Beach, Gourmet, Luxury, Relaxing

Food and Drink Highlights

There is a Michelin star restaurant - La Maison 1888 - in the hotel. The building is amazing and the food was quite good. The breakfast buffet was also very nice with a huge selection. The beachfront restaurant was one of the highlights of the trip as well… Less formal setting and all the food was delicious.

Essential Packing for this Trip

Sunblock, swimming trunks/bikini, credit card.

What Abraham got up to…

Abraham in Vietnam

We decided to spend a weekend in Danang to celebrate our anniversary, as well as one of our last trips before our baby arrives.

This location had been on our radar for a while, but finally we managed to get a direct flight from Singapore that wasn’t outrageously expensive. We spent a couple of days in Hoi An visiting the town, but then ended the trip with a couple of nights at the Intercontinental.

This location is unbelievable, and the quality of service was fantastic. All the staff in the hotel was incredibly friendly and helpful, and they catered for our every need.

The hotel is set on a hillside so you get the most wonderful views of the peninsula. There is a very nice cable car to take you between levels and everything about it is just top notch!
