Business trip to Houston, Texas.
Spending the week eating quality Mexican and BBQ food!
Be prepared to drive everywhere! It’s not a walking town, and is very spread out.
June — It’s hot in Houston in June, but still bearable.
Landed at Bush airport, and took a taxi to the Houstonian Hotel
Sunday at the hotel to recover from jetlag, then business meetings all week, flying back out on Friday.
Sport and Exercise, Shopping, Food.
Ate Mexican at El Tiempo (casual, fun, good food), Hugo (higher end, great food) and Pico (more Mexican than Texmex, great margaritas). At Cajun at Ragin’ Cajun (lots of character, very informal and rustic, worth a trip), and BBQ at Gatlins (fantastic food, great staff. Place itself is new, so lacks a bit of character, but still loved it).
Sunscreen, your Uber app (taxis aren’t so great, Uber is everywhere).
Busy work days every day, and then heading out in the evenings to enjoy Texan cuisine. The Texans are a warm bunch, and very happy to give recommendations on things to do/places to eat. Also visited the Museum Of Natural Science on the weekend, which I’d recommend.
